The Audi brand was founded in 1909 by August Horch in Zwickau, Saxony.

In 1932, the four Saxon car manufacturers Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer merged to form Auto Union AG.

Their logo: four intertwined rings. After the Second World War it was re-established in Ingolstadt and incorporated into the Volkswagen Group in 1965.

The restart succeeded in 1968 with the 100 model. Today, models are considered premium vehicles with a sporty design.
